В Великобритании проходят королевские скачки Royal Ascot, основанные еще в XVIII веке. Вчера мероприятие посетила Кейт Миддлтон вместе с мужем, принцем Уильямом. Королевская пара впервые появилась на скачках в статусе принца и принцессы Уэльских.

Обычно Кейт выбирала для скачек в Аскоте довольно спокойные и сдержанные наряды. Но на этот раз она решила отойти от правил и предстала в красном платье от любимого бренда Alexander McQueen, которое она дополнила изящной шляпой в тон, созданной живой легендой мира моды Филиппом Трейси.

Свой яркий образ Кейт дополнила массивными серьгами Sezane и клатчем Hermes.

Раньше в таких ярких платьях на Аскоте обычно появлялась покойная королева Елизавета, которая, имея восхитительное чувство юмора, говорила, что если она наденет менее заметный цвет, то ее никто не узнает.

Принц Уильям был одет во фрак и шляпу-цилиндр, как и многие другие мужчины на этом мероприятии.

На Royal Ascot можно было увидеть новоизбранного короля Карла III и королеву-консорта Камиллу – супруги также впервые на скачках в этом статусе.

В этом году, впервые в истории, Royal Ascot проходит без зрителей. Однако, для неизменных светских гостей и поклонников королевских скачек, карантин — не повод игнорировать событие. Так, в сети набирает обороты флешмоб #RoyalAscotAtHome, участники которого делятся своим образом для этого престижного светского события. В дополнение к нему – благотворительная инициатива #StyledWithThanks: нужно лишь добавить соотвествующий  хештег и перечислить 5 фунтов в фонд мероприятия. Собрали самые интересные образы британцев, в том числе – внучки королевы Зара и ее мужа Майк Тиндалл, британской модели Рози Тапнер, лайфстайл-блогера Марико Куо и многих других.
